A Dollop of Sour Cream

I'm not much into spicy food. I have recently discovered that if a meal is just a tad too spicy for me, I can put sour cream on top and make it not just palatable, but wonderful. This blog is devoted to doing the same for life.

Discovery

This is right up there with Sour Cream.

Oatmeal tastes much better with milk.

Oatmeal also tastes better with brown sugar melting underneath that drizzle of milk!

Mmmmmm.

Of course, oatmeal tastes best in an oatmeal cookie! As Lis would say, "You can have your oatmeal in your cookie, or you can have it for breakfast!" Lucky kids!

Well. Right now I am eating several years' accumulation of instant oatmeal. I have some just plain oatmeal (with my high "bad" chloresterol I found out that oatmeal was a good food for me to eat so bought it to make muffins -- but I didn't really like the muffins so much :( ) But I've never made that into morning cereal type stuff so I'm not sure I would know how. For now I've got this instant stuff and need to use it up.

Oatmeal, brown sugar, melted REAL butter, a pinch of salt, and a drizzle of honey. That's the meal of champions.

I have heard that a few baked, brown-sugar covered yams cut up in tiny chunks also make oatmeal yummy. I am going to try this. It sounds heavenly.

Glad you discovered my favorite breakfast besides breakfast tacos!

I forgot to mention milk... ha! Yes, I put cold 2% milk on top of my steaming hot oatmeal (along with all the other items I mentioned)...
